Applicable Life/Work Experience
I have successfully raised four children to adulthood, I also am the grandmother of eight, I am active in the lives of my children and grandchildren. I know what it is to demand quality academics for my children and grandchildren. I am very well acquainted with the resources for a special needs child. One of my own children was on an IEP and was in a self contained class, my other child was in the gifted program (SAGE). Currently, my seven year old grandson successfully met the requirements of the IEP/504 plan.
I have worked for 28 years in the aerospace industry, all with the same company. This long association, shows my dedication and and commitment to a job that I am passionate about. My previous career has given me the communication skills to interact with people on many different levels. My communication skills and people skills, will serve me well when dealing with classroom mangement and interacting with children and parents.
In my previous career, I was in a lead position, having supervision over 20+ people. I was responsible for customer communications, quality assurance and on time delivery. I have worked with many teams, at many levels during my career. I have been the team leader, team participant and scribe. I also worked in manufacturing, leadership, and in Payroll, where I was certified in Oracle and People Soft. I was responsible for confidential records and the correct accounting of all payroll associated practices.
I feel that my previous experience in life and work, shows the passion, dedication and willingness that I bring to the classroom, to make each child and their family's learning experience the best that it can be.
